  18. Sorry Micheal, but thats simply not true. "PC" drives do have a ready line
  19. and the software does use it. Where else do you think the "Not ready
  20. reading drive a: BS comes from? They just don't bother scanning the drive
  21. status till its needed for something or other.

  23. Its on pin 34. Where the "amiga" drives are different is some sort of
  24. signalling the drive does in response to a toggle of the motor on line
  25. which the drive answers on the ready line, the returned pattern of bits
  26. tells the amiga the drives density ability. There is a discussion on this
  27. in the hardware books alltho I can't at the moment quote chapter and verse
  28. numbers. Its also in the rkm's.
